In a field that tends toward no-nonsense usefulness, it’s a breath of fresh air to see a sports betting site that dares to add plenty of style. Does Players Only also have substance? Our review will soon find out…
Gameplay 8/10
Lovely ladies greet you and a slick navigation system brings you will user-friendly ease to the bets. Once you get to the wagering page (a matter of two or three clicks), you’ll notice the system is virtually identical to the one at Sportsbook.com (which always impressed me with its sophisticated combination of ease and flexibility). Basically, what you have is a more stylish version of that site.
The ease continues with sign-up, a brief one-page process that puts you at full speed in a minute or two.
All sorts of major league, college, international and exotic bets are possible, and the odds seem to be competitive with any of the best online sportsbooks. I appreciate all of the various options and the drop-down tree menus used to select them, especially how they included important notes along with the menu items so that you were completely aware of any restrictions.

Promotions 7.5/10
Players Only offers a handful of decent promotions, including a 10% instant cash sign-up bonus. Once you’re in, you can qualify for a 5% reload bonus as well. They have a few additional bonuses for the casino section, but sports fans also get regular long- and short-term promotions (right now, the MLB has some tasty weekly and season-long cash prizes for the baseball bettor, and wagering on NASCAR has a total of $40,000 attached to the specials).
Customer Service 9.5/10
Perhaps what they save in bonuses they put into support; live chat, telephone, and email options — nobody could ask for more. I, for one, prefer the personal touch, so Players Only wins me over in that respect.

Wrap Up
Style always comes with a price, and in this case some extra load times and slightly unnecessary graphic embellishments decrease the overall user-friendliness by a small fraction (I became a little impatient with hit-or-miss main page drop-down menus, that all too often made new pages pop up instead of loading in the same window). Don’t get me wrong, I liked Sportsbook.com quite a bit and this is essentially the same system with a few extra touches — ultimately, you make no compromises with the odds, the wagers, or the amount of info available. If you like a bit of VIP treatment with your online sports betting experience, Players Only may be just the website you need.
