PokerRoom, established in 1999, is one of the earliest online poker websites.  With nearly ten years of experience, they’ve created a stable software system and a loyal player base.  Specializing in European players, Poker Room has gathered a large regional audience, and has a presence in North America as well.

New players will find that PokerRoom has a unique incentive and bonus system specific to PokerRoom.  The tables are often full and the game variety if good, but the graphics are shoddy.

Gameplay 7.5/10

The usual assortment of poker games are available on PokerRoom.  In addition to Hold ‘Em, Omaha, Draw and more.  In addition to these normal poker games, PokerRoom.com offers games such as blackjack, video poker, Chinese poker and more.  It’s always heartening to see an online poker room expanding beyond the games every other website offers.

All of their games are active and their tournaments are regular with decent payouts.  Their highest guaranteed tournament is their 100K bounty, which is a nice chunk of change.

The game software more than serviceable.  Calling and folding is as easy as you would expect. The on-screen representation of the rake is welcome and it would be nice to see more online poker sites incorporate it.  There are some community features which are nice.

Promotions 8/10

PokerRoom takes a slightly different approach to deposit bonuses from other online poker sites.  They do offer a $100 deposit bonus which is on the low side.  However, they also offer three tickets for free entry into tournaments.  Many players would prefer the cash bonuses, but it does have some unexpected advantages.  It encourages new players to join tournaments, softening them up which can make it easier to place in the money.

PokerRoom has a promotion for the Aussie Millions tournament, offering satellites into the main event.  Aussie Millions is one of the premier events in professional poker, rivaling the World Series of Poker.  Players should take advantage of any opportunity to earn a place in the prestigious tourney.

The staff of PokerRoom offers e-mail, chat, and phone support.  The turnaround on their e-mail support is high and the advice is accurate and useful.

Players will find that it is easy to make deposits and cash out.  Know that they do offer play money services (and even advertise) in North America.

Players should take advantage of the all-in-one nature of PokerRoom. Being able to play poker, blackjack, and more exotic games is a huge plus and that alone is worth checking out PokerRoom.  The tables are fast and the options for multiple languages should appeal to a wide set of international players.
