PokerStars might just be the busiest online poker room ever.  Sit and Go games fill up fast, there are hundreds of tournaments today and it seems that everyone has had an account on PokerStars at one time or another.  If you aren’t familiar with PokerStars, it was established in 2001 and was made famous by producing several World Series of Poker winners through satellite tournaments.

Today, they players have played over twenty billion hands of poker at PokerStars.  Their Sunday Millions tournament is their signature game and it is one of the premier tournaments in online poker.  As well, PokerStars offers up some of the best promotions.

Gameplay  10/10

PokerStars has, in my opinion, the best software out of any currently available online poker service. Streamlined, stable, and attractive – PokerStars has the full package.  The interface game interface is easy to use and intuitive.  Choosing a game is a breeze and PokerStars offers excellent descriptions of each game right on the main page so players can never be confused about what each table is offering.

PokerStars has all the Poker games you would expect form a major player (Razz, all the Omaha variants, Stud, Draw, HORSE and even some more obscure offerings).  They offer regular freeroll tournaments in all of these varieties which are nice for players looking to get some tournament experience in a less popular game.  Their real-money tournaments are equally varied.

The look of the poker tables is very nice.  The table design is elegant and players can upload their own avatars which PokerStars will automatically re size to a perfect circle.  It can leads to some awkward moments where players will insult pictures of their opponents wives, but the strict game managers at PokerStars will usually nip ugly situations like that in the bud sooner rather than later.

PokerStars offers a one time deposit bonus of up to fifty dollars.  PokerStars also offers excellent freerolls for new depositors and other ways to get into the big tournaments on the cheap.

For big spenders, they do have some of the better perks. Users who qualify for SuperNova (high roller status over at PokerStars) get access to free tournaments with $50,000+ guarantees and other promotions.

PokerStars has very efficient email support (all the questions the author has sent them in the past have been answered within an hour) which provides 24/7 service.

Cashing out with PokerStars is easy and European and Asian players should find the process completely painless. Americans will have some more work to do due to their more stringent gaming laws, but the PokerStars staff does their best to make it easy to collect your winnings. Deposits are equally easy.  Just make sure to deposit 50 dollars your first time to take advantage of their bonus.

I would recommend PokerStars to three groups: High Rollers looking for heavy competition and big money, first time players who want to just dip their toes in the water in cash games, and finally serious Razz/Omaha Hi-Lo players.  These three groups they should find PokerStars a premium website with a lot to offer.  Even those who don’t fit neatly into those categories will be offered an above-average gaming experience at PokerStars.
