This Finnish poker wunderkind has perfect looks to match his nearly perfect game. A former tennis player/model, Antonius has taken the poker world by storm earning over $2.8 million through amazing tournament play.

Having begun learning the game at the age of 12, Antonius showed an affinity for the sport that has led him to the number one ranking on the Finnish All Time Money Winner list. Although he now sits atop that list, things weren’t always that way and like many other players that would eventually become pros, Antonius went broke several times before finally becoming financially solvent.

Antonius’s debut on poker scene earned him a reputation as one of the top players to be watched after he finished 12th in the EPT PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (2004) and 15th in the WPT Bay Shooting Stars 101 tournament (2005). Later that year, Antonius went on a tear that saw him make the money in three tournaments at the WSOP. Soon after, Antonius finished third in the Barcelona EPT tournament and he finally took down his first EPT event in Baden bei Wien. He collected €288,180 for his victory.

Now a man with a target on his back, Antonius buckled down and went to town to prove his naysayers wrong. He finished 2005 with an impressive second place showing at the $25,000 WPT Five Diamond Classic. He earned $1,046,470 for the strong showing.

Although he had a solid 2006, Antonius only had one major score on the tournament scene. He finished ninth in the inaugural $50,000 WSOP H.O.R.S.E. World Championship. The following year, Antonius finished third in the WSOP’s $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha World Championship.

Although Antonius has proven himself to be a formidable competitor in tournament play, his real forte is playing cash games. Whether he plays live at Bobby’s Room or online at Full Tilt Poker, this member of Team Full Tilt  is an uber-aggressive chip assassin that is well-known for his willingness to gamble on his skills.

Although he is a great tournament player and a surreal cash game specialist, Antonius’s biggest claim to fame is his uncanny heads up play. Unafraid of his competitors, Antonius has won millions by smoking his challengers. He was also the first person to accept the “Durrr” challenge in which he and Tom Dwan had to play 50,000 hands (at limits of $200/$400, four tables at a time in each session) in either No Limit Hold’em or Pot Limit Omaha. Dwan offered Patrik (and the rest if the world) $1.5 million should they beat him (as long as Dwan’s opponents poneyed-up their $1,000,000 buy-in). A winner has yet to be declared.
